Cypher Side Dance School - Cypher Side Dance School is more than just a dance studio , it’s a vibrant community where young dancers are welcomed, inspired, and empowered. As a hub for youth dance culture, we provide a supportive space for students to explore diverse dance styles, build confidence, and develop lifelong resilience . We currently offer Break Dance, Hip Hop, and K-Pop classes for students ranging from ages 3 to adults. Whether students are taking their first steps in dance or refining their skills for the stage, we foster growth at every level. Our Performance Team has showcased their talent at Mall of America, Sunisa Lee’s city celebration, the Governor’s Inauguration, the Minnesota State Fair, and more. Cypher Side was also a featured performer for the Minnesota Timberwolves halftime show for AAPI night. Our accredited instructors bring world-class experience, having performed with the Minnesota Timberwolves/Lynx as part of The First Avenue Breakers and 612 Crew, danced alongside Justin Timberlake at Super Bowl 52, and beyond. At Cypher Side, we believe dance is more than movement. It’s a path to self-expression, strength, and community.
Wedu Khupe - Wedu Elvis Khupe is a dancer and visual artist (printmaking, painting, and drawing). Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but raised in Gaborone, Botswana, for 17 years, he is a graduate of Minneapolis College (Class of 2024) with a certificate in Apparel Technologies. His journey in dance started at the age of 16, joining a dance crew specializing inanimation. He is currently specializing in ISbhujwa (a slang term for bourgeois), a streetdance and movement originating in Soweto, South Africa, known for its distinct footwork and body movement. Alongside dance, printmaking and painting are his specialties, with an illustration style that is a fusion of tribal and psychedelic designs.
In Memoriam - Jeremy “Reveal” Paulson had been dancing since 2010 in the Twin Cities area. His main styles included House, Social Hip Hop, and Poppin’. He had the pleasure of going to Taiwan in 2017 and performing at the Yilan International Children's Festival. He had been teaching street styles since 2016 in various spaces with different organizations, including Beacons, Urban 4-H, Asian Media Access, and Spectrum Dance. He competed in many dance competitions in the Twin Cities and other states, including Wisconsin, California, and Illinois. Attending different competitions became the catalyst for him to host a free battle centered around youth inclusion called Innovate in 2019. He later had the opportunity to learn from Bay Area street dance pioneers Money B and Boogaloo Dan and was able to undergo professional development through their guidance. He was a culture bearer who wished to inspire more African American artists to see the importance of keeping these traditions.
MN Funkstyles - MN Funkstyles is a Popping, Locking & Waacking community in the Twin Cities that has been around for almost 20 years. There are many artists within this community that I have gone on to teach at places like House of dance Twin cities, Hot House Minneapolis, All Day Studios, The Workroom, Cypher Side, and many other locations.
Edward Nehemiah (Sta1n) Lucas - Born and raised in North Minneapolis, Stain is a Krump dancer and battle artist whose movement speaks a raw, unfiltered language of emotion and resilience. Beginning with Popping and Waving techniques, he later transitioned to Krump, drawn to its raw energy and powerful storytelling. His early career with Asian Media Access (AMA) led them to perform on stages such as the Ordway, inspiring young audiences through street dance. However, a deep passion for competitive expression led him to the battle scene, where they honed their craft and built a reputation as a formidable force in Krump and All-Styles tournaments. His artistry has taken him across the U.S. and internationally, including Canada, where they have battled against some of the world’s top dancers. Beyond competition, Stain is committed to pushing the boundaries of Krump, exploring its theatrical and creative potential while remaining rooted in its street origins. He aims to compete internationally, mentor young dancers, and establish a company that deepens Krump’s connection to storytelling and emotional translation. His vision is to elevate Krump beyond battles and into new artistic spaces, ensuring its place within contemporary performance and beyond.
The Flipside - The Flipside is a different look at a piece created by Raphael L. Dow III back in 2021. After the George Floyd protest Raphael found it important to portray black men in a LIGHT where they were profoundly comfortable in their own skin no matter the stereotypes they may face or conflict they endure. The Flipside is a similar message for a different view on being your best self as a Black Woman.
Southwest HS Dance Crew – Tamiko French is a community dance and theater educator in her 10th year sharing her passion for performing arts through MPS. This year she is sharing a selection of the best dancers in the Southwest High School Community. With 30 years of Community Arts Education, Tamiko strives to provide a place for the pillars of hip hop to thrive. Through the experience of Emcee in, B-Boy/B-Girl, Graffiti, D-Jayin, students learn more about themselves, a way of life and community that pushes them to be creative and grow together.
RONDO Double Dutch - RONDO Double Dutch was founded in the summer of 2023 by Mercedes Yarbrough, also known as Mizz Mercedez, with support from Jelahn Prentiss, aka Da Twist Mastr. Initially created as a one-time event to encourage kids to enjoy outdoor activities without relying on technology, it quickly evolved into a transformative, community-driven movement. With a mission of spreading love, peace, and unity, RONDO Double Dutch has grown into an intergenerational group composed of community members from across the Twin Cities. The group fosters inclusivity and connection, reflecting participants of all ages, genders, and family dynamics. Many team members include children and grandchildren, making it a family-centered initiative that strengthens community bonds.
Wheels of Expression - W.O.E is the performance team of TCS (Twin Cities Skaters) with many years of experience displaying the art of rollerskating around the country and locally.
BIIG MIIC is a High-Energy hip hop artist and performer that creates music with the power to appeal to broad audiences. His sound is unique, inventive and motivational. He's earned the nickname Mr. High Energy from the way he shuts stages down. BIIG MIIC’s dynamic stage presence and vivid lyrical content make this intense emcee a must-see. Welcome to team High Energy!!!You might know him as Dj Biig Miic. Known for playing the best music from the golden eras of Hip Hop, R&B and Old School. The cookout DJ & host of For the Culture on KRSM Radio where he is the station manager.
Andy Mor - Andy Mor, dancer and choreographer based in the twin cities, deriving from different genres of movement. Originally from Cameroon, Andy has paved his way as a dance artist dancing with his sisters known as the AMANIM Dance Group to a legacy known as AMANIM5, LLC. He uses his platform to teach his weekly classes at hothouse, Mpls. His style jazzfunk, is not based on just one style but stretches into house, hip hop, makossa, jazz, and includes some samples of contemporary and fusion into choreography. He's been part of the MIXTAPE Collective as a choreographer and dancer; an ensemble member for Al'tawam and Bzychilin for "Rooted"; assistant choreographer for the Timberwolves' dance crew; the headliner for "Andy Mor & Cabarave"; and has been part of the "I'm From" collective. His work has been showcased at the Cowles Center for Dance & the Performing Arts, the Ordway, and the Southern Theatre and has done some residency work at the University of MN and in Portland, Maine. He just recently taught for the Innovate Dance event held in MN and Milwaukee.
Chrome In10city - Chrome In10city is a powerhouse all-female crew founded in 2024. This crew is led by Selwyn Talley and Tottiana Stolberg. Grounded in intense training and performance mastery, they are dedicated to perfecting their craft and making their mark on Minnesota's biggest stages.
Ololade “O” Gbadamosi - Ololade Gbadamosi also known as O, is a Twin Cities native who specializes in the dance styles Krump, Hip Hop and Afro social dances. Krump is a street dance that stands for Kingdom Radically Uplifting Mighty Praise. Ololade is mostly self-taught in this style and has traveled outside of Minnesota to participate in battles and also take classes from other proven krumpers including the creators of the dance style Chez "Tight Eyez" Willis and Jo'Artis "Mijo" Ratti. O has been a big supporter of the MN hip hop and Krump community by teaching krump, hosting events such as The Uprizing and being involved in hip hop based performances such as I'm From Vol. 1;Mixtape, Mixtape Side B, Mixtape III.
Brotha.E - Internationally recognized Enock Kalubi Kadima, best known as Brotha.E, is a multi-disciplinary artist from Congo, Kinshasa/Brazzaville. From Battles, shows, music videos, commercials, & theater. His dance movement and artistry reflects and highlights the richness of Congolese, African, Black culture that he intends to shift the paradigm on, including how the masses in his generation perceive African Art. He is also known for globally spreading Congolese, African, and Black art and culture through the studies and practice of multiple arts such as Ndombolo, Hip Hop, House, Popping, just to name a few. He constantly pays homage to the legacy of those that came before him, which he believes is necessary to accentuate the voices of his people.

1K-Miguel, also known as “1K”, is a seasoned Krump dancer born and based in Buffalo, NY. He began his journey in the Krump movement in 2006 and has since become a global presence in the street dance scene. With nearly two decades of experience, 1K has traveled extensively, sharing his passion and skill across continents. He has served as a judge, champion, and finalist in numerous prestigious international Krump competitions, including King of Buck, EBS, SDK, Gutta Zone, and many others. His competitive footprint spans Asia, Europe, North and South America, and Oceania, reflecting his deep influence and commitment to the art form. 1K is respected not only for his powerful performance style but also for his contributions to the growth and expansion of Krump culture worldwide. His dedication continues to inspire a new generation of dancers and elevate the global Krump community.
Ayden “Poota” Brooks - Born on September 1, 2017, Ayden Brooks—affectionately known as Poota—is a rising star in the world of dance. The son of Simian Rashad Brooks, also known as Unkle Disko, and Valerie Elaine White, lovingly called Auntie, Ayden has been surrounded by rhythm and creativity his whole life. He began his dance journey at just 3 years old at IDanz Performing Arts Studio, under the direction of Camille Thompson. Ayden has trained in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and Krump, developing an impressive versatility and a captivating stage presence well beyond his years. Ayden’s Krump training is led by the talented Ruben Dodds, also known as Rapture. Under his mentorship, Ayden proudly carries the title Mini Rapture, showcasing his passion and skill in one of the most expressive and powerful dance styles. Whether he’s gliding in ballet or bringing the raw energy of Krump, Ayden “Poota” Brooks brings heart, soul, and an unstoppable spirit to every performance.
BamBam - Hello, my name is Roydell (Bambam) Shannon Jr., and I am 12 years old. With a passion for dance ignited by my father's krumping experiences, I have been dancing for 5years. At the age of 2, I was inspired to emulate his movements, and accompanying him to So You Think You Can Dance further fueled my enthusiasm. As I matured, I had the privilege of practicing with my father, refining my skills and laying the groundwork for my remarkable journey. Under the mentorship of Jerwaun Sudden, also known as Renegade, I have had the opportunity to travel, acquire new techniques, and cultivate healthier habits. I am grateful for his guidance and unwavering support. My experiences have taken me to Arizona for Desert Storm 4 and 5, and California for Wasteland 1, 2, and 3, where I have had the thrill of winning a snipe tournament. Currently, I am dedicated to honing my craft, embracing every moment of my journey, and I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has supported me and enabled me to be part of an incredible culture
Jarell Crews -Jarell Crews, better known as Baby Solow, is a Maryland native and a rising star in the Krump world. He’s been immersed in Krump since he was just 3 years old, growing up surrounded by the history and influence of East Coast Krump pioneers. By the time he was 7, his talent really started to shine, earning him a spot in the Solow family at the direct invitation of Krump legend Solow himself. Jarell is a passionate student, fierce competitor, and decorated champion, with titles like the Gutta Zone Youth Championship, Desert Storm Youth Championship, and FCD Krump Kid of the Year award under his belt.
Kam - Before I could walk or talk, my grandparents saw that I had an unusually deep connection to music and dance. I am 7 years old now, and my love for expressing myself through creative movement continues to grow and strengthen every single day. I love listening to music and freestyle dancing everywhere I go. I was just officially introduced to Krump last September 2024. The super talented Virgo and Final Warning, began teaching me about the history, culture and movement of Krump. Being able to express myself by combining my creativity in movement with Krump has been an incredible experience for me. I started spending time labbing, watching Krump reels, going to drop-in classes, sessioning and battling. I've even been traveling to other Krump communities and getting to know some amazing positive Krumpers from many different places. I'm so grateful for my MNKrump community that has shown me so much love through all of their support and encouragement in my Krump journey! I know we all can't wait to see my future in Krump and Krump's future in me!
Larry Combs aka RUIN - I am 34 years old and have been Krump dancing since was about 12 or 13 years old nonstop. I started Krump dancing in the Inland empire which is a county that is about 1 hour from LA, the birthplace of Krump. I graduated from Eisenhower High, a place where my dancing and drive for Krump was challenged a lot due to the city I lived in having so many Krump dancers. This is why I am highly competitive today. Nowadays, I spend time teaching the youth at elementary and middle schools the foundations of Krump dancing, and I still compete in my spare time–traveling, workshops, judging events and more. Over my many years of Krump dancing, I have been able to share the stage with many different platforms and amazing dancers from all over the world. I have been to over 23states in the U.S. and many other countries over the past 15 years such as France, Germany, Russia, New Zealand, Ireland, England, Switzerland, China, Japan & many more. I have won many events and battles over the years and continue to push myself here in2025.

Amirah Sackett - An internationally recognized hip-hop dancer, choreographer, and teacher, Amirah Sackett explores and embodies her Muslim American identity through combining hip-hop movement and Islamic themes. She reached viral video fame after being featured on POPSUGAR Celebrity, The Huffington Post, AJ+, and Upworthy. Amirah was named one of "17 Muslim American Women Who Made America Great in 2016" by The Huffington Post. Sackett was honored to be a TED speaker, guest lecturer and teacher at Harvard University, and a cultural diplomat with the U.S. State Department in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Kuwait, and Romania. She had the honor to represent the U.S.A. as a cultural performer, in United Arab Emirates, at the Expo 2020 Dubai, the S.W.A.N.A.'s region’s first World's Fair. Based in Chicago, Amirah continues to teach the next generation and encourage emerging artists to use hip-hop culture as a way to uplift, inspire, and create social change.
DAISY - Daisy is an American independent recording artist, producer, dancer, and performer born and raised in Los Angeles. Her journey began at just seven years old when her stepfather recognized her natural talent after she flawlessly recited his raps. From that moment, he mentored her, helping shape a voice that would become a force in music and dance. A true triple threat, Daisy has made her mark in music, TV, and film. She starred in RIZE, directed by David LaChapelle, and appeared in Be Cool, School Gyrls, and Thirteen. She performed at the BET Awards with Ciara, appeared in Chris Brown’s iconic Run It and Yo videos, and worked with Nickelodeon on The Giggle Club/Star Camp alongside Nick Cannon and Quincy Jones Sr. Honored by the City of Los Angeles for her contributions to underprivileged youth, Daisy continues to use her art for impact. As a pioneer of Buck Music—the rawest sub-genre of hip-hop—she pushes a movement designed to Inform, Transform, & Inspire. A female originator of Krump and former member of Street Kingdom (MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew), she has traveled the world teaching, judging, and battling in the art form that changed her life. Desdamona - Desdamona is an award-winning Hip Hop artist. She co-founded B-Girl Be, a celebration of women in Hip Hop in Minneapolis (2005-2011). She has toured the US, Canada and France and has collaborated with Grammy Award winners, Sly & Robbie. She was featured in a national "Back to School" campaign for Kmart, as a rapping lunch lady. In 2024, Des was given a scholarship to Pendulum Ink, a school dedicated to the advancement of Hip Hop lyricism, studying under elite emcees Mickey Factz and ChillaJones. Des is also the Poetry Ambassador for TruArtSpeaks.
